Buffalo native and Texas Is The Reason frontman, Garrett Klahn came by on his fortieth birthday to announce his upcoming solo album on Rise Records, discuss why he recently moved out of NYC after two decades and to elaborate on the dramatic break-ups of Copper and TITR. “Texas wasn’t built to last, I don’t know if we had another record in us,” he explains at one point. “In the grand scheme of things I’m glad that it happened that way because it immediately put things in perspective.”
Judging from Klahn’s current outlook, it seems as if the next phase of his career is going to be just as exciting to him and his listeners. Big thanks to The Gaslight Anthem’s drummer Benny Horowitz for once again joining us as a guest host.
