Episode 129: Brendan Kelly & Toby Jeg

The Lawrence Arms’ bassist/vocalist Brendan Kelly and Red Scare Records’ founder Toby Jeg came by Going Off Track the weekend of the label’s 10th anniversary event in Brooklyn to talk about the genesis of the label. We also discuss how Toby got his big break at Fat Wreck Chords by being Fat Mike’s designated driver, the Chicago police and drunks’ mutual respect for each other and why Rush’s Neil Peart is the king of the nerds. Brendan also talks about how Don Henley’s “Boys Of Summer” was his “first taste of visceral darkness” and we all recount our least favorite songs of all-time, which mainly involve The Eagles. This is officially the end of the innocence.
